Sanchez

Anthony, Margaret, and Andrew Sanchez lost their lives in a weather-related accident. Anthony apparently lost control of the family’s pickup, crossed the center line, and slammed into a semi-truck. They were forty nine, fifty, and twenty years old, respectively.

Highway 160 in Colorado is a long straight stretch of highway where the Sanchez family died. Mountains on either side of the road, it’s easy to imagine snow and wind reducing visibility to near zero out here.

Their descanso is backed by beautiful peaks, rising up into the sky the way everything seems to do in this part of the country. I worked to capture the mountains in the background but am not sure I did enough.
