
On my quest to become a better photographer of people, both dead and alive, I took a few photos at an event we called Cars y Carnitas, held at easily the best Mexican restaurant in Vancouver, Buenos Dias.

I shot a bunch of photos but learned a valuable lesson about shooting wide open in the sunshine: it’s not a great idea. I ended up with four shots that were usable … and a refined appreciation for the complexities of black and white photography.
