On the way back from Sunriver I stopped to take a photo of a ruined farmhouse. I love seeing what nature will do to a human-made structure given enough time, and this place was an excellent example. I was beat from the drive and so just used the Lightroom “recommendations” for presets:


My daughter, who is a much better photographer than I am, suggested that the one on the right looked better, but in both cases the sky was blown out and needed the white balance adjusted down. Unfortunately I don’t know how to change the white balance in a masked region … so time to poke around on the Internet.
When I framed the shot I purposefully put the run right behind the house since I like how the contrast turns out.
