Motion

As a car guy, capturing “rollers” is going to be important, and I have a ton of experience driving my cars so that other people can get cool moving shots … and zero experience on the back-side of the lens. So I gave it a shot.

Now I handicapped by not having an actual car I was shooting and just picking vehicles at random, but damn this isn’ t easy. Some things I learned:

  • I probably need to hang out the window, at least a little bit, or perhaps shoot from the back of a car that has a lift gate that can be open;
  • I need to figure out the best autofocus setting, since 99% of the shots I took had the vehicle out of focus;
  • I need to be able to communicate with the car being photographed.

What else do I need to know?
