Mermaid

I didn’t get a lot of photos while I was on Maui and I was a little surprised I didn’t see more memorials. I am even more surprised, months later as I get caught back up after the holidays, because it turns out a lot people die on Hawaii’s roads. I discover this as I find it’s more or less impossible to figure out the stories behind the photos I took.

Clearly this was a young person. I can’t make out the middle word — I continue to adhere to my policy of not touching these memorials — and without it the Internet is somewhat unhelpful due to all the accidents on Highway 31 on Maui.
