Jaremy Jess Erickson died in a motorcycle accident in 2024. His descanso is a colorful affair up above a reservoir in Idaho.

He was well loved, and it seems like he had a rich life as a musician, husband and father, and company owner.

When I read his obituary I was not surprised to see he had a full life; his memorial was well decorated — little bottles, rocks, motorcycles, flags — all of the kinds of little kick-knack I have become accustomed to seeing at more recently established sites.

Erickson had served our country, it seems, although his obit only mentions his service to the Church of Latter Day Saints. I’d be surprised if he hadn’t been in the military given the decoration.

It’s sad when anyone dies, especially when they die young, but I really feel for Erickson’s wife and child and the community around him. I’m sure his loss hurts every day.
