Omar

Omar

Omar Enrique Silva Marmolejo had a hell of a name and was driving an asphalt truck, presumably for a living. Unfortunately he lost his brakes in the truck on a Tuesday morning in the winding canyon roads above Boulder. When he crashed he was ejected from the truck, and he ended up dying pinned under the overturned rig.

Omar was twenty four.

It’s been awhile since I have commented about seatbelts. I’m not sure why people don’t wear them. And of course I can’t be sure, but in most of the cases where the deceased is ejected and ends up memorialized behind my lens … I just have this nagging feeling that if they had worn their seatbelt I wouldn’t have been there.

Omar’s descanso is tucked into the canyon, butted up against the boulder that his truck landed on I assume.

Rest in peace, Omar.
