Near the end of Hebo Road, just before the intersection of Highway 18 in Grand Ronde, I found this anonymous memorial. It’s old for sure, and didn’t really look like it had been visited in years. It’s at a sharp corner and it’s easy to see why someone may have lost their life here.

The memorial is at a particularly tight left turn, marked but sharper than you’d expect.

I looked back after taking the photo and was struck by the beauty and sadness of the whole scene.
