Zane Ruby has an amazing descanso on Highway 14, just up the road from Tyler. A stylized cross, weathering with age, decorated and well cared for.

Zane made the poor choice to not wear his seatbelt while driving his Nissan Murano, a decision that probably cost him his life. Details are light in the police report, but seatbelts do save lives.

I’m not sure what the significance of the vest is, but it makes an interesting addition to the memorial blowing in the near constant wind up the gorge.
