Decay

I have passed this one a few times on deadly highway 97, not entirely sure if it was even a descanso or just old wood. I stopped to check since I had time and, in fact, it was a memorial … and I say “was” because clearly this one has seen better days.

Still, it has the hallmarks of descansos including several U.S. flags strewn around on the ground the cross; no doubt these were proudly planted years and years ago. But otherwise no markings, no text, no nothing to identify the poor soul who lost their life here.
