Moises

Moises

Heading out of town from Quanta after shooting the White Bike, and still working to be somewhat selective about where I stopped to shoot, I came across Moises M. Medina and Josette L. Vigil. Moises descanso was simple — two small, wooden crosses …

… whereas Josette’s were elaborate metal crosses, brightly decorated and recently visited. Both overlooked a gorgeous valley, mountains in the distance, on enough of a curve in the road for me to wonder how many others had died in this location.

Josette’s family must really miss her; the decorations on her crosses were vibrant and had been recently placed.

Josette was a beloved daughter and sister, and it appeared he died when she was twenty based on this heavily rusting plaque on one of the crosses.

Descanse en paz, Moises y Josette.
