Dylan
Dylan Romero died driving drunk, and he took a beloved third-grade teacher with him. He was nineteen when he collided with Denise Archuleta on U.S. 84 in New Mexico. Dylan was killed immediately; Archuleta died shortly thereafter.

Archuleta’s family is suing the bar that served Romero and his estate. It won’t bring her back but to me it seems just: the bar should not have served a minor, much less to the point of intoxication (if that is, in fact, what happened.)
His descanso is elaborate, for sure, with a cement heart wrapped around his cross and the entire thing decorated colorfully. It was close to Easter when we visited and you could see that his family had visited recently, decorating the way one would for a child.
I’m sure it’s sad for them — I know it is — but I wonder if I would be more circumspect if my son or daughter had broken the law and made a mistake that cost a woman her life?

Regardless, rest in peace, all.
