The wife and I went to Arizona for sunshine and to look at cars. I looked at the roads we would be driving on and grabbed the Hasselblad. Turns out I only sort of needed it …

Descansos are purportedly plentiful in Arizona, but they were few and far between North out of Scottsdale to Sedona for some reason. I maybe saw a dozen and was only able to shoot about half of them.

Cheri was the first one I saw and she had two memorials (as near as I could tell, I wasn’t able to get close enough to the second cross to read the note.)

I’d say I’m glad that I saw so few memorials in Arizona because it means that people are driving more carefully … but 100% I know that’s not the case. Rather I bet it’s something about how Arizona’s Department of Transportation treats descansos.
