Roy Engel died at 58 just a few miles from my house back in 2002. I would have thought with his full name and DOD on the descanso I’d be able to learn more about the accident but no luck.

It’s funny, I passed Roy a thousand times when driving here or there and never once noticed his memorial. Sure, it’s faded gray against gray in the Pacific Northwest (which is often gray) but it isn’t as if it’s invisible.

To be honest, I didn’t even see Roy’s cross, my oldest kid did and told me about it. Thanks for that!
