We went to Germany to drive cars on amazing roads and look at castles. The first installment of this micro-series looked at cars, so it must be time for castles.

There seem to be two categories of castles here: incredible, over-the-top Disney-esque castles … and everything else. Castle Neuschwanstein is in the former category; an entirely over-the-top castle high upon a hill overlooking a beautiful valley and lake. It was the feature image from our hotel room one night, and what an image it was.

The second type of castle — the “everything else” — is exemplified by this little keep we came across in Lichtenstein on our way to lunch. We didn’t even try and tour it, although I am sure you could, but it made for a nice image against the Alps.

Anyway, castles …
Here are a few random photos you may enjoy, or have a look at all my portfolio, my work shooting roadside memorials, or car people that I have photographed.
