Little Chapel

As we came back from Sayulita on Mexico Highway 200 — another deadly road — we came across a descanso that I wouldn’t be able to safely shoot which stressed me out. As I pondered that, we came across a massive chapel in the woods with a singular, small memorial off to the side.

The black structure to the right is the chapel, complete with cushions to kneel on to pray and an endless candles, but off to the left was this little descanso. No identifying markers, but clearly a memorial to an individual other than Jesus himself. If I knew more Spanish I could have asked the people visiting the larger chapel if they knew anything about this little chapel, but alas, no hablo Espanol.
