Victor
Victor Zenon Ramos Benitez was seventeen when he was killed on Mexico Highway 200, back in 2010. His descanso one of so many on this road, but one that is standing up to time well considering it’s largely made of wood.

The jungle around Victor is growing, and the pullout where we were able to park while I shot is shrinking. It made me wonder how long until these memorials become inaccessible to families?

I’m not a fan of the mid-day light; it’s harsh and makes it difficult to get shots that convey the detail of some of the structures. But I work with what I have.

Descanse en paz, Victor.
