Alexa

As a father of a daughter this descanso makes me sad. It makes me sad the same way the rest of them do, because it’s sad when people die, sad when they die early, and sad when they die young. But it makes me more sad when it’s someone’s twenty one year old daughter who has her entire life ahead of her.

This was the case with Alexa Rion Williamsen.

Alexa was turning off of Highway 101 near Tillamook, Oregon but must not have noticed the Jeep Liberty coming directly at her. The Jeep must not have been able to stop in time since they collided.

Alexa didn’t survive.

Her descanso is simple, decorated only with a simple cross and a few trinkets. It’s interesting since she came from a huge family — according to the article:

Alexa is survived by her father and stepmother Adam and Katy Williamsen, her mother and stepfather Tricia and Jeremy Samora, grandparents Jim and Maryann Welch, grandparents Bob and Colleen Williamsen, grandmother Vickie Williamsen, great-grandmother Faith Hermann and siblings Brody Williamsen, Addisyn Williamsen, Alexis Samora, Jack Samora, Maddox Samora and Mackenzie Samora. Alexa has left behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

But I guess it’s a long drive from Aberdeen, Washington, and it’s only been a few years so maybe its too far or too soon.

Rest in peace, Alexa.
